Land Rover Encino 'Product Placed' Rolls Royce and Range Rovers at the Jackson Funeral
Jackson was undoubtedly a musical genius, if somewhat flawed as a man. And financial controversy and freebies dogged him for a very long time, so in a way it’s apposite that this Rolls Royce / Range Rover dealer should jump in with product placement in such a crass way. This is Porsche’s new 911 Turbo, with an enlarged and twin-turbocharged engine producing more power, plus the option of a twin-clutch gearbox that features proper gearshift paddles. Unbelievably, it’s the first entirely new engine in the 35-year history of the Turbo. Essentially it’s the same direct-injection 3.8-litre flat-six that you’ll find in regular 911s, but now fitted with variable geometry twin turbos to give a healthy 493bhp, a 20bhp increase over the current car.
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale
Lamborghini teased us back in August with the statement that Frankfurt 2011 would see a ‘Super Sports Car’ arrive from Sant’Agata. We thought it may be a road-going version of the Gallardo Super Trofeo and so it is, with the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale leaking out on the eve of the Frankfurt show. The Super Trofeo Stradale is Lamborghini’s fulfilment of a promise to deliver a new car to every major motor show, but there’s nothing really new about the Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale – it’s really just another lightweight, ‘Limited Edition’ Gallardo.
